A data gateway at every site. Not a hole in any firewall.

A Virtual Data Platform Agent is a lightweight data gateway — not an AI agent.

Agent

Source systems

  • Internal
  • External
  • Web
The Agent sits inside your network: it connects outbound to the platform and queries your internal, external and web sources on its side of the firewall.

What an Agent does

An Agent installs inside one of your Locations and connects outbound to the platform, then waits for work. When a query arrives, it executes the matching Handler against the source system under the user's translated identity and streams results back. It never accepts an inbound connection, so no firewall holes, no VPN mesh and no exposed databases.

  • Connects outbound only — the platform never reaches into your network.
  • Waits for work, then executes Handler queries against the source.
  • Runs the user's translated identity — never a shared service account.
  • Lightweight install with managed updates.
Locations: separate networks stay separate

A Location is an organizing concept — HQ, a subsidiary, a plant, a cloud tenant. Each gets its own Agent. Networks that have never been bridged stay that way: the Agent reaches out, so you consolidate across every site without a single inbound rule.

Handler catalog

Handlers are the connectors an Agent runs. The catalog spans deep SAP connectors, databases and warehouses, business applications, Microsoft 365 & BI, and open interfaces.

These are popular examples, not the full list — new Handlers ship regularly, and through ODBC, OData and web interfaces an Agent reaches virtually any system with a driver or API. Missing a source you need? Just ask.

Operations

Small install footprint, outbound-only networking and managed updates keep the Agent invisible to day-to-day operations while staying current.
